The 2nd AGM of Maritime Silk Road Society
The 2nd Annual General Meeting of the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) was held on 27 July at CORE VENUES in Wan Chai to adopt the minutes of the 1st AGM and to receive the 2016-2017 reports of the Executive Committee. The meeting was attended by about 50 people who were Advisors, office bearers of the Board of Governors, Executive Committee members and members of the Society. Among them were Advisors Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen and Dato’ Ir Donald Lim who made special trips to Hong Kong to attend the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of MSRS delivered her welcoming remarks and reported on seminars and conferences; exchanges and visits; and cultural activities of the Society. She highlighted her recent trip to Prague and Greece for the promotion of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and meeting with summer interns working in these two places. Mr Bernard Chan, Co-Chair of MSRS reported on the latest developments of the Society. Mr Roland Wong, Vice-Chair (Development) of the Youth Opportunities Committee (YOC) presented the report on the second “Operation Zhang Qian — Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme”.
Meanwhile, Mr Alex Wong, CEO proposed to establish a Financial Services Committee with one Chair and two Vice-Chairs to enhance the promotion of financial services under “the Belt and Road”. Ms Wendy Tsang, Executive Director gave a report on the Statement of Comprehensive Income and Expenditure for the year ended on 31 March 2017.
