Arabic Language and Islamic Culture Preliminary Exploration

The “Arabic Language and Islamic Culture Preliminary Exploration”, organized by the Maritime Silk Road Society, has commenced on 14 March. Participants meet every Tuesday for five consecutive weeks. In view of the pre-dominance of Islamic culture, the course aims to introduce its history, culture, religion and customs to the participants and enable them to learn some basic Arabic conversation and vocabulary.
Since its introduction to China in the Tang Dynasty, Islam as a religion started to take root. Among some 60 countries along the “Belt and Road” regions, more than 30 countries are under the strong influence of Muslim culture in areas such as politics, social and economic, cultural and international relations.
