Exploration on Islamic Culture and Arabic Language

The Exploration on Islamic Culture and Arabic Language, organized by MSRS, has started on 26 November. Participants meet every Friday for four consecutive weeks to learn about historic development of the Arabic world, including post-war Afghanistan; customs of Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan; in addition to fundamentals of Arabic language.

Since its introduction to China in the Tang Dynasty, Islam as a religion started to take root. Among some 60 countries along the “Belt and Road” regions, more than 30 countries are under the strong influence of Muslim culture in areas such as politics, society, economy, culture, and international relations. Course tutor Mr Mohammed Wong vividly introduced the Arabic world with real-life objects such as nibbles and spices, which let participants quickly grasp foreign concepts.
