Webinar on “The Multi-faceted Metaverse”

The Webinar on “The Multi-faceted Metaverse” organized by the Maritime Silk Road Society was held on 7 June. Dr Mark Lee, Research Director of Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy, was the speaker of the webinar.
Dr Lee stated that in order to attract younger consumers and make their products exclusive, many luxury brands have launched their non-fungible token (NFT) collections, which is a new opportunity for traditional business. He then compared the uniqueness, ownership and sovereignty of avatar, self-sustainability, fungibilility and trading procedure of the Metaverse with the Internet. Dr Lee ended his presentation with introducing the future of the Metaverse. He also encouraged people from different sectors to expand their business to the Metaverse.
In the Q&A session, participants discussed with Dr Lee regarding applications of the Metaverse in the agriculture and funeral services, selling traditional art in the Metaverse and the Metaverse market in China.
