Three interns, including Alex Cheung, Ann Tang and Thomas Tang, were the guest hosts who discussed with Dr Ng about personal growth, communication skills and facing adversity-handling.

Dr Charles Ng obtained his medical degree from The University of Hong Kong and Master’s in Public Health from John’s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He worked for three years with the Hospital Authority as a physician before joining IQVIA in San Francisco Bay Area as a business consultant. He was recently appointed as medical director of IPS VIP, a medical aesthetics organization.

In the presentation, Dr Ng shared his insights and tips on studying, working and venturing into a business. He believed that learning with an open mind, thirst for knowledge and perseverance are the keys to success, and good communication is two-way, taking into account different perspectives. He also cited his experiences and challenges faced as his gave an example of his own entrepreneurial journey to illustrate how passion is also an important driving force for success. Finally, he advised the students on how to present themselves appropriately when entering the workplace.

During the discussion session, the three students gave their unique insights. One of them said that perseverance is nothing but a cliché. However, Dr Ng pointed out that most people quickly forget these truths. The real challenge is to remember the knowledge and to be consistent. At last, he hoped all the participants would put into practice what they had learnt from his presentation and achieve their own success.
