Ambassador Vladimir Norov Visited Hong Kong Science Park

On 15 April, Ambassador Vladimir Norov, Director of International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) & Former Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization visited the CUHK InnoHK Centre at Hong Kong Science Park. He was accompanied by Mr Shavkat Alimbekov, Leading Researcher of IICA; Mr Zhao Jie, Vice Chairman of Silk Road Economic Development Research Center; and Ms Wendy Tsang, Executive Director of Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS).

At the Science Park, he met with Dr C.K. Wong, Distinguished Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society and IT Consultant of MSRS; Prof Helen Meng, Patrick Huen Wing Ming Professor of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong; Ms Zhang Jing, AI Research Engineer, Assistant to the Director of Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), Hong Kong Institute of Science and Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Mr Leo Liu Binxing, Council Member and Director of Professional and Career Development of Hong Kong Computer Society, General Manager of Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Philippines, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. They had a discussion focusing on the development of Intellectual Silk Road and the use of ICT including AI to promote closer collaboration between Central Asia and China with Hong Kong taking an active role.
