Mr Alex Wong Spoke on Opportunities and Challenges for Hong Kong Youth under B&R Initiative

2020-02-13

On 13 February, upon Hang Seng University of Hong Kong’s invitation, Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS gave a presentation to students who were interested in the development of Belt and Road. The title of the presentation was “Opportunities and Challenges for Hong Kong Youth under the Belt and Road Initiative”. In response to the outbreak of Covid-19, the presentation was given through online platform. The students responded enthusiastically to the speech, with more than 160 participants joining it.

To strengthen students’ understanding of Belt and Road, Mr Wong first explained the background of the "Belt and Road" in a comprehensive way, including key routes, layouts, framework ideas, and priorities of cooperation. In addition, Mr Wong cited the participation of various places in China and Hong Kong in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and used the China Merchants Group as an example to explain how state-owned enterprises could expand their overseas business through the “Belt and Road” framework. Teenagers should also seize the opportunities brought by the “Belt and Road”, make good use of Hong Kong's young people's own advantages, and seek developmental opportunities in the two major development directions of entrepreneurship and employment. In the end, when teenagers face challenges, Mr Wong encouraged them to maintain a positive attitude and adjust their mentality in resolving their difficulties.
