MSRS Volunteers Participated in the "YouAndMe" Campaign to Distribute Anti-COVID Packs
Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) was invited by the Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link and the Hong Kong United Youth Association to participate in the "Youth Anti-Coronavirus Link" (“Link”). The “Young Family Support” campaign, an anti-pandemic material packages distribution activity, was held from 14 to 20 March. During the outbreak of COVID-19, many families with children and teenagers were badly affected by the pandemic and were unable to receive appropriate medical supplies and information. Through 100 kindergartens and 100 primary schools, the “Link” aimed to distribute anti-COVID supplies to 10,000 families in need.
Within a short period of time, MSRS organized a volunteer team consisting mainly of MSRS members and the LegCo Member Ms Judy Chan of the New People’s Party. During the activity, volunteers collected the packages from Mu Kuang English School in Kwun Tong and sent them to the recipient families in various districts. The packages include COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits, Jin Hua Qing Gan Granules, children masks and instructions for use. The “Link” has won the support of young people and friends from all social circles. In just a few days, it has successfully mobilized many volunteers, thus demonstrating the commitment of Hong Kong citizens and young people to the society.
