2026-06-13
On June 13, Mrs Regina Ip, Convenor of the Executive Council and Co-Chair of the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS), was invited to serve as the officiating guest at the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Summit" jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and “ICH June”, with MSRS acting as a collaborating organization for the event.
In her speech, Mrs Regina Ip noted that intangible cultural heritage is a cultural treasure of the Chinese nation, carrying a long historical memory and profound humanistic wisdom. Hong Kong is home to many intangible cultural heritage items, such as Cantonese opera, herbal tea, paper crafting, and the Tai Ping Ching Jiao, which together shape Hong Kong's unique and diverse urban cultural identity. The MSRS has been committed to promoting cultural exchanges between China and other countries, carrying forward the fine traditional Chinese culture, and has also organized activities exploring Hong Kong's cultural heritage to deepen members' understanding of local cultural heritage.
