During my two-month internship, I served as a translator and a crucial intermediary between Chinese investors and our company, engaging in guest relations, marketing, and client mediation. This enriching experience allowed me to tackle various tasks beyond translation.
A key responsibility was assisting Chinese investors who purchased properties in Greece. I guided them through important procedures like biometrics registration, signing legal documents, and accompanying them on property inspections. Translating for clients went beyond words; it required understanding their intent and emotions, using body language and empathy to ensure they felt heard. In sensitive situations, I carefully chose my words to maintain professionalism while conveying the client's message accurately.
I also played a vital role in resolving miscommunications and conflicts between clients and the company, particularly due to cultural differences. By understanding both Chinese and Greek perspectives, I facilitated dialogue and fostered understanding, helping to calm tensions and find solutions.
Additionally, I contributed to marketing efforts by translating presentations, creating promotional materials, and participating in photo shoots. This allowed me to merge creativity with cultural awareness in our outreach strategies.
Overall, this internship transformed my professional skills and provided invaluable insights into cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution, and international business. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the company's success and build strong client relationships.
